Help!! Vacuum leak...or something
1987 Honda Civic DX, D15A2 engine
I took off the carb to have it rebuilt. When I put it back on, the idle doesn't drop below 2000 rpm. When I turn off ignition, the car vibrates a lot before going out, just like how it did when I disconnected my brake booster hose once and forgot to reconnect it.
I've checked that all vacuum hoses are connected. I torqued down the carb and use gasoline-safe gasket maker between the carb and mount flange.
Ideas?

rebuild trouble
you have to check all the springs and clips to make sure they are installed on the carb right i believe there are a couple springs that fit backwards and cause performance problems

Check with brake clean you don't have a vacuum leak. You may have left a hose disconnected or the carburator gasket is leaking. Spray around areas you think may be leaking, if the RPM changes when you are spraying the leak you've found it. Also, is there an idle adjustment on that? You can try adjusting that.
