Default Gauge cluster problems-Will this work???

Hi, my 91 civic gauge cluster lights have gone out, again.

The bulbs all go out at once. This will be the 4th time they've gone out completely. They start by going on/off randomly, then finally go out and don't come back on. I was thinking, since I can't be sure what parts messed up, i'll replace the whole gauge cluster w/a new one that comes w/new wiring.

What is the likely-hood of fixing the problem for good this way? I've only ever replaced the bulbs-but thats only a temp fix and is a huge hassle cause I can't do the work since I don't know much about cars, I have to pay someone to take apart the dash.

PLEASE HELP!

Dimmer switch, or you have a bad connection somewhere in the circuit.
