temp gauge sending unit

Default temp gauge sending unit

where is the temp. sending unit cause i got the temp pod and i need to hook it up cause my gauges dont work

on the end of the head below the distributor - has 1-wire connector with yellow with green stripe wire - depending on what gauge you have, you may need to change the sending unit for one that is compatible with the gauge

What motor you got, some older B series motors and the D series motors have the sending unit on the back of the engine near the oil pressure sender. (near the oil filter)

that is not the gauge sending unit on the back of the block - that is the cooling fan switch

Oh yeah, you're right, then it is the one under the distributor.

There may be two such things under the distributor, one which looks like the thermoswitch (cooling fan switch) and a smaller one (the temp gauge sending unit) that you can disconnect simply by pulling on the connector, whereas the thermoswitch or it's "twin" (which sends to the ECU I believe, forget the name) have a connector that will click and lock into place.

For my car, the service manual says 7ft-lbs. for the temp. gauge sending unit, and to use liquid gasket on the threads.
