Default 91 CRX Swap problem....

Hey guys I recently swapped out my CRX HF with a D15B Vtec JDM, and had it running good. Was about to start redoin the body, when a dilemna came up. Sounded like I threw a rod even though I never pushed to redline. Under further inspection my cam timing gear tore the tooth off that aligns with the camshaft and cracked the camshaft. Would my solution be to find a replacement head, or just replace the cam? and if anyone has a good site to find these parts that'd also be greatly appreaciated
thanks

ok sry it's kind of hard to explain and my camera broke just last week. The valves did not damage the pistons and the cam still moves to answer those questions. now to explain. you know how the cam gear slides onto the cam and there is a a single tooth on the inside of the to make sure you align the gear and cam together? well somehow the tooth on the timing gear for the cam split the cam's end, and now the cam gear can rotate about 10-15degrees easily.

if you don't have any bent valves, just replace the camshaft - if some valves are bent, replace the valves along with the camshaft

ok. i also read that the d15b Vtec head is the same exact head as a d16z6 vtec head. do you know if that's true? and do you have any good sites or sources to get a cam from? and if any 16v SOHC vtec cam will work?

Get the Z6 its just like the JDMd15 head. So what I said was the key way failed????? Its not a single tooth there is a removable key in a key way.. Is the head off? valve cover off?
