fixing error code 20

Default fixing error code 20

i have an 89 honda civic that is getting an error code 20. I have replaced the battery connectors and the battery what else should I look at doing next?

Assuming you have a stock 89 honda civic, code 20 is _not_ a valid code.

code 20 is valid and usually caused by alternator not working properly

Just out of curiosity, what kind of stereo system is installed in the car?
(too many amplifiers pulling too many amps? if so, get a higher amperage alternator.)

Check all your ground connections (engine, transmission, car body).

my car is not a stock car and it has the original stereo system. Thank you for all the information. that will help me alot.

i appreciate all the help now i can come up with a game plan thank you for the trouble shooting guide. my book on my car didn't even have that.
