That's easy cuzz. Go with the Gsr because more torque. You'll need a cable /hydro kit. Then again in a Rex a B16 is the right motor.

u could find a cable b16 or ls tranny and bolt it right up to either motor, basically the only difference is one wire for the 2nd butterfly on the gsr manifold, (makes it sound like a pre-vtec! lol )

I've got two Honda Crx's, one is an 86, the other is an 87. The 86 has a 91 B16 Vtec, the other has a B18a Acura engine from a 91 LS. The B16 is a kick in the butt to drive, gets great gas mileage, and parts are easy to find. The B18 has more low end torque than the other, but doesn't give you the Vtec rush. I bought another B16 engine so that I can add Vtec to the B18 without the major expense of a GSR engine. You remove the B18 head and replace it with with the B16 one. It even puts out nearly as much as a type R engine because of the larger displacement B18 block has about 75 more cc's than the type R Block. It's also a whole lot less money to do it this way, and most states won't even notice the head on the engine during a smog check.
Also, there are clearance issues with the intake manifold against the firewall on the GSR engine you dont have with the B16. I used a lot of the parts from the 91 LS car too. Clutch cable, fuel lines, air intake snorkus, inner and outer CV joints mouted to new Hasport shortened axles, electrical harness with all connectors, injector resistor box and even brake hoses.
Great hobby. Lots of modifications to the electrical stuff to make it all fit, but you can have an experienced shop hook all that up for under a grand.
It all ran about $3500 for the B16 and @2500 for the B18. Not all that much money for a whole lotta fun. Good luck with all. RDK
