Default clutch problems

i have a b16 swap in my crx, i hooked up the cable to the transmission then proceeded to shift into gear when i noticed the clutch pedal depressed to the floor and it wouldnt retrack after i released my foot. So i checked the cable then the fluid and finally discouver the clutch arm that attaches to the cable @ the transmission moves freely up and down and the same arm in my running crx doesnt. Could this be a major internal transmission problem? what should i do?

Dude, what fluid did you check, its a cable clutch

I'm guessin that you just put it in? Most likely you don't have the pivot bushing in its slot on the tranny side. There is always a little "play" in the trans. Adjusting (screwing the plastic nut on the tranny side) will take out all the play and it will work.

Granted but there is more then alittle play, the arm freely moves up and down. And no i recently aquired the entire engine with tranny. Im removing the transmission for interal inspections
