Default what engine to go in to a 89 crx

i just bought an 1989 crx si it has a ton of mikles so i'm gona drive it till it dies. after that i want to make it my project car. i want to do an engine swap but don't know what to get i'm looking to spend abot 2000-2800 on the swap. i'm planing on then turbocharging it. i'm gona put a t4 or larger turbo in it so i need an engine that will handle that power at a higher psi. what should i get and what other things will i need except the ecu chip.

Most people that go for turbo usually go w/ a B18A & turbo. It's a lower compression motor than a Vtec. If you wasn't going turbo I'd recommend a B16A or B18C. Good luck

you can get a full b18a/b swap for cheap. when fully built it doesnt really matter what engine you get.

Why do you want Hydraulic tranny??? its just more of a hassle. and if you do, depending on what engine you drop in they make the hydraulic to cable conversion im pretty sure. check out hasports site. I would deffidently go with a b18a and turbo it. I did the same swap in my 90 crx si, and its great. lots of torque. Drag turbo kits make a custom kit to fit the crx with the b18a swap check them out too. I am about to buy one they are around $3g's but should be well worth it. I will let you know

Check out jspecauto.com they have some. if not them check out the favorite site of all honda owners...hmotorsonline.com. would call them and see if they can get you one, they might not have one on the page, but they might be able to get you one.

well, a b16 sir is a good start, but if you have more deep pockets then go with a gsr motor or itr motor, b18c1, b18c5. all of those "scream like a first date" in the top rpm's.
