Default 4 speed... to buy or not to buy

i am the current owner of a 1991 integra and i am thinking of buying a 1991 civic hatch. the price is right and the car is in decent condition , the only thing that bothers me is that it is a four speed manual. i guess that my question is , whats up with the four speed ? is it a decent transmision? i dont plan on doing a swap or anything and i havent seen a manual with less than five gears since the mid eighties. any input is welcome

4spd is great on gas but sucks in acceleration. I had one but swapped a 5spd. Huge difference. If you plan on just crusing around and is in great condition, get it. If you want speed dont but it. After driving your teg you will think that ef is slowwwwwwwwwwwwwww. IMO without the ef there would not be an import performance aftermarket. It made v8 owners open their eyes!

Thank you for your input. I desided I'm going to buy it anyways. I'll keep you posted.

i ended up getting screwed out of that deal, the car is $1900 and i called and asked if i could put a $1000 down and finance the rest, she said okay so i drove all the way out to the car lot and the OWNER of the car lot said he wanted all of the money now and that he wasnt willing to finance. so i said thanks for nothing and slammed the door in his face. its a damn shame too because it was in nice shape. so the quest continues.
