Default CRX:B18A1 help

I have a swapped Ls CRX. Recently my tranny blew it's guts. The day before it did I put a can off seafoam in my tank. The car sat for a couple days without being run. Now that I got it back going in between 2500-3000 rpm's it now stutters and smokes. After a little while the check engine light comes on and the car has full power and feels like it got a extra push! I flushed the gas put in 93 octane so far. Any idea what this could be?

You mention the tranny issue and symptoms after using SeaFoam. What is your question exactly?

In regards to the SeaFoam, if you put the whole can in, you may have used too much. The can says 1 oz. per gallon of fuel, but I think it's a bit much. Here's how I've used it:

12 oz. can of SeaFoam

1/3 can into fuel tank

1/3 can into intake manifold and all 4 cylinders - I add a little to each cylinder through the spark plug hole and let soak for 5 minutes to break-up any carbon deposits. Start car and let run till smoke stops. Rev a little occationally to help burn it all out. Don't burn it off cruising around town, it smokes A LOT for 15-20 minutes.

1/3 can into crankcase - only just before changing the oil; add SeaFoam and run car for around 5 minutes to loosen sludge and other deposits, then drain and add new oil & filter.

I've only done this once, so if you or anyone else decides to try this method, you do so at your own discretion. Please use common sense. I will not be held responsible for anyone injured or cars damaged from not following the manufacturers directions.

What is the CEL for, have you checked?

Does it still sputter and smoke since replacing the gas?

Disconect your battery for 30seconds, drive car until CEL comes back up, pull passenger side carpet up, count blinks!! If there is a CEL there is a code showing too!! It might be something fuel related due to the stuttering, have you replaced the fuel filter...given its a stock one think about how old that thing is...
