Default Tac hwiring on 88 civic...

my buddy just got a 1988 civic STD yesterday (lol @ STD). anyway... those don't come with a tach, and being that it's a 4 speed manual, he'd like to install one. i promised to research it today and try to do it. we have a 3" sunpro tach or something.

my only real question is if there is a factory tac hsignal output wire like there was on my '94 del sol. if so, i can handle wiring it. if not, how do i wire it to the dizzy?

thanks in advance...

the tach wire is in the plug @ cluster if you plug one with a tach it will work. or just tap in to the blue wire @ distributor.

you should have to tap into a wire on the distributor. Thats what I had to do for mine.
