Put Honda brand MTL (manual trans lubricant) in there ... available at the dealer for a few bucks a quart. DO NOT... under any circumstances... EVER put 80w gear oil in there!!! You can also use 10w30 motor oil, but why? Honda makes a perfect fluid.

What does it do? I'm forced to run 80w-90 for my LSD.

You have a 90 Dx CRX, right? What trans do you have in there?? I assumed stock since you didn't mention otherwise. Perhaps an important detail was left out??

Honda trans juice is fine for it, the stock LSD is not a clutching type.

It's an aftermarket Kaaz unit.

Oh, the clutching Kaaz... yeah, I guess you don't have much of an option.

At least consider something in the 75W90 weight.

Is it bad for it?

It causes more mechanical drag and I've heard mention of it being bad for the synchro rings for this reason. Overweight oil in the trans isn't nearly as bad as overweight oil in the engine, however.
