Okay so i bought this 90' CRX and the guy i bought ut from said he was on the freeway and all of the sudden the motor popped then lost compression and wont start anymore, however when you do turn it over you can hear i sound kind of like gurgleing in the engine. There is no hole or crack in the block or newhere on the engine so that would mean that none of the pistons could have blown. When i got the car to my house i was checking random shit then i checked the oil and it was overfilled by about 2 quarts, could this be the reason??? If not then what else could be the problem??? AND can i fix this without gettin a new motor?

HELP ME PLEASE GUYS

Default F***ed Up Engine

just drain it like you are changing the oil. note that there could be a more serious problem and that oil might not be the only thing in the pan.

if worst comes to worst you can always buy a new engine and pop it in there. the swaps are relativly painless and result in some good solid power advantages over the stock engine.

yeah well you see, i was going to do that but not till the first week of sep. cuz im gettin a 6 grand check from a previous accident my plans are going B16 Turbo so i was going to wait to do the swap till i got money, no sense in wasting some $800 for an engine im only gonna have in for 2 weeks

and yes that timing belt is still attached

ill try draining the oil and see whats going on and if theres a diff. more worse problem then fuck it ill juss let it sit till sep.

if there is anything else possibly wrong then ppl helpppppppppppp

forget the b16-- it's a nice engine and all but you might as well go for a b18c or something.

if you are planning to mod it you might as well get the b18c1 engine. it has a buttload of torque and more potential than a b16 in terms of boosted horsepower.

the b18c1 IS NOT the type-r variant of the b18.

it is the gs-r and sir-g variant using what is called a p72 head.

this head is by far the best vtec head you can find and with careful tuning you can reach nearly 300 crank horsepower reliably. (pushing about 10 pounds of boost)

if ur gettin 6 grand an plannin on dumpin it all in that crx.. in my opinion i wuld do one of 2 things.. make an ls/vtec.. or h22 crx.. haha bad ass.. u got 6 grand to blow on it right? .. but for the ls vtec.. my set up wuld be this.. ls motor, go to dh-racing.com.. get a fully port an polished GSR head for 1500, while ur at it get there pistons or use gsr type r pistons.. gsr tranny, an p30 ecu .. i mean with all that u might go over ur limit but im sayin its a good set up lol.. or jus order one of dh-racings fully port an polished engines, both bottom an top end bored out..
