Default Best year?

what would be the best year CRX to get just in general for tuning and stuff and yes i plan on swaping the engine?

Depends...

Lighest model (great for swaps but lacks in options) = 88-89 HF
Not the easiest to mod, because the hubs and axles are weak and will need to be swapped out for a B series...

The model with the most going for it is the 90-91 Si... They have the few 'luxury' options that the U.S. CRXs ever came with... But they tend to be heavier than the rest... But not by much...

90-91 would be best for tuning... pm6's that are chippable

If they did, if would be the same as the US Si model.

The '85 CRX Si is an autocross monster.

The '84 CRX HF is the lightest chassis with a bolt-in B-series kit on the market.
