Default Steering wheel size

Is there a general rule of thumb for selecting a steering wheel size? The smaller the steering wheel the harder it will be to turn.... but how small is too small?

If you can drive while wearing handcuffs...that's probably too small.

My general rule is to keep it close to the stock size. Wheels that are much smaller then stock are obnoxiously tight.

My Sparco Extreme 2 is horrible. It's too small and occasionally my hands slip off while turning... stay away from small steering wheels

The Sparco Extreme 2 (310mm) is horrible? That's actually one of the larger steering wheels. My stock wheel is 14.75" (375mm). Aftermarket ones don't seem to come even close to that.

trust me, i have small hands and its weird to grab ahold of this thing, the flattened top and bottom of the wheel make it hard when turning but perfect for when you are just cruising down the highway... everyone has there niches so my dislikes may be your likes. :hsdunno:

It looks alot smaller than it does in photographs, when i took it out of the box i was like "wtf is this tiny thing" i thought it was a joke.

That was one of the ones I was thinking about... glad I posted now.

So it sounds more like it wasn't the 310mm that was too small but the actual thickness of the wheel that was too small? Doesn't fit comfortably in your hand?

It has these grooves on the sides and near the top that let your fingers wrap around it good and if you are the type to drive with two hands then its perfect for you but the main concern is while turning.
