Brake question
Just replaced the front rotors and pads on my '89 DX sedan. Now there is a chirping squeak in the passenger front brake. Chirp stops as soon as any braking is started. There is no noise during braking. I've tried permatex spray-on brake squeak stop. I've also tried completely removing the stop-squeak with brake cleaner and still get the same chirping. Can someone help me stop the squeak? Thanks for you insights and suggestions. Rick
It chirps while driving?
Take the wheel off and check all the bolts for tightness. Put the wheel back on and test drive it.
If that fails, take it all apart and reassemble with new shims (you did use new shims, right?) and lube the backs of the shims with antiseize. Reassemble and test.

I have the same problem with my 91 crx si. I just had new trailing arms and joints but in all around, and now my car squeaks from the rear almost all the time, but stops when I apply the brakes. Its gets really bad when its raining.
I haven't had time to take off the wheels yet and check, didn't think it was anything too bad just annoying.

The brushing are whatever comes stock from honda. I had to order the whole back trailing arms for the crx from the local honda dealership, which had to get them from California. I will look into it though. I just assumed it was the brakes since the sound stops when I push on the brakes.
If it is the brushings, is there anyway to fix it, or is it even a problem other than the sound.

I don't know which type comes stock from honda. Probably not the bushings if the sounds stops when braking. FYI, if it turns out to be the bushings are urethane then it's normal to have squeaks. Urethane is high performance and much harder than rubber.
