Default new to the EF thing

so i sold my EG hatch today and already found a good strong car. its a 91 EF hatch with the SI intake swap SI wheels and a dc sports shifter and a catback exhaust... ill get pics up tomrow but id like to know what to offer him... it has some slight rust and the interior is mint. he is asking 1500 and was wondering if i should try to get him to bargain he is pretty firm

edit... it has a SI cluster and the car has 130k

Find out whether its a Si. It'll have a power sunroof & tach. Also when you say si wheels. Are they off a 99-00 Si or crx si wheels. I payed 1K for my si 4 yrs ago. I've done 3 motor swap since ownig mine. I love the si.

Around here, if it is solid and doesn't puke smoke, that would be a pretty good price.

if all it has is a d series motor in it, i'd say try to get him to get it down to at least 1200, even with si parts, if it isnt an original si its not worth much really IMO but if the car is mint then 1500 is a reasonable price to pay.

EDIT: why would you sell an eg and buy an ef? most people would do the opposite. :hsugh:

You haven't even told us what kind of Civic it is? You said it has Si this and Si that, but is it an original Si or a lower trim level with Si parts? I am guessing it is NOT an original SI since you said it has the SI intake swap?? You never said if it has a tach in the gauge cluster or if it has the power moonroof. So i am guessing it is a Dx or possibly the Standard (STD, no badging, 1.5l with a 4 speed manual, GREAT gas milage) bottom of the basement model.

Depending on what it is, don't expect to run anything faster than 16's.

I don't get why people drag race near stock Honda's. Seems like such a waste of time. "Oh man, what a rush, I just ran a 16 flat."

Yeah, really.

When I go to the local 1/4 mile track, I usually line up next to a D-bag and his stock Civic. After the run, they always wonder why they ran a 17+ second time.

Civics are great chassis to modify, but factory stock, you might as well be driving a Neon down the 1/4.
