Default Sunroof

OK so MY sun roof works if i hold the switch and push at the same time...if i dont' push then the motor will lift it up some and then just crank like its not grabbing what ever it need to grab...is it that the motor isn't getting all the power needed or is the motor bad....if the motor is bad where would be a good place to find a new 1 for me? Junk yard? any where i could find a new 1?

You probably need a new motor.

Costs about $162. You're probably better off trying to find one in a yard or using the manual tool that is with your tire changing tools that should have come with your car. It's to close it in emergencies but I use it all the time since I ripped my motor out. There's a little circle thing in your headliner you pop out to use the tool. Works for me, little less convinent than a power one, but I don't really mind.

try greasing the rails that the sunroof slides on. Use grease, not wd-40 or some kind of oil. Grease the rails and try opening and closing a few times, work it back and forth. Also, on mine, I had to take out the sunroof and reinsert a screw that held the arm that slides to the sunroof panel because it fell out causing a very similar problem.

The manual crank doesn't work? Sounds like something is jammed. I'd take a look.
