Default exhaust

my ehaust finally fell apart a couple of days ago (it was pretty much rot near the cat..i bottomed out the car on a speed bump...and well it broke a huge hole) anywayz right now i did a crappy makeshift weld and wraped some mig wire to it to hold it together, now i was wondering what size piping would be best for my civic, its a 1.5l and the only engine mod is intake, also i know a full cat back system would be best but there also pricey, so what type of universal muffler would be best...sorry if any of you know of a decent cat-back setup that wont cost to much cash please tell me....p.s. sorry if i started to ramble

For a stock 1.5l DPFI... stick with factory replica replacement parts. That engine is a waste of time.

buy yourself a fart-can on ebay for like thirty bucks and then take it and your car down to the local exhaust shop and have them bend and weld you up a 2" pipe that should keep the cost down to around $300 or less depending on the exhaust shop u go to.

not that any of you care, but i decided to buy some 2" piping from a local shop, got a resonator welded in, and bought a ractive universal muffler with a silencer...i have to say im very pleased with the outcome, my civic now has a nice low hum thing going on (i was worried it would sound like the cheap pissed of bee mufflers everyone has around town) and total cost was about $300 cad.

Good choice with the resonator. The reason most "fart can" Hondas out there sound so horrible is because they don't have a resonator. Using the silencer helps a lot, too.

Be careful with that silencer, though. I have a straight pipe on my '7 with a small resonator and an N1 copy exhaust... it've blown out two single bolt silencers so far. If yours has two bolts, it should be fine.

(Bonez/RX7.com racepipe and CorkSport catback for those that care, it's the CS silencer that keeps blowing out.)
