I have seen no part number proof, but have heard a lot of rumours that auto SiR/RSi/XSi B16A and SiR-G B18C cams have a weaker cam profile to go easier on the typically weak Honda automatic transaxles.

What is the block serial number? If I recall correctly, 5 million series engines came from Integras (XSi/RSi) and could have originally been mated to an automatic trans. Without knowing the previous history of the engine, it's difficult to tell.

If you are really paranoid about it, swap in some B17A1 or B18C1 GS-R cams. Both are more aggressive then first gen B16A cams and can be had cheap.
