temp problem

Default temp problem

ok i bought a 89 civic about 7 months ago and in the beginning the thermostat guage only read 1/4 of the way up and at the end of winter the warmer it got out the gauge will go up about 3/4 of the way up about 2 months ago the head gasket blew and i redid the headgasket and it was still running hot so i re wired the fan and put it on a switch so i can control it i replaced all hoses and the thermostat and it was still getting hot so then i flushed the radiator system and its still hot can someone help me im lost and dont know what to do?

You didnt replace the thermostat yet

Please don't think I'm trying to insult you but did you bleed any air out of the cooling system after filling it back up? There's a little bleeder fitting but I can't remember exactly where. I know it's somewhere on the top that's easy to get to.

if you had a head blown gasket, did you have the head re -shave? most of the time when you get a blown headgasket the head will warp. also check your water pump if it's doing his job.

Don't do that. I have seen a few engines blow because the owner wired in a fan switch and forgot to turn it on, as well as a few dead batteries from owners forgetting to turn the fan off.

no i didnt bleed anything i just let the car warm up with the radiator cap off and when it was warm put the cap back on
