Default Transmission question

Ok, I have a DX auto that I want to convert to stick. What transmissions mate up to it? Does the SI tranny mate up to the DX engine?

yes all the d series transmission will pretty much bolt up to each other. but like its going to be said plenty of times on this very thread. that is very expensive to do its almost better to sell your car and get one that is manual. there is a lot of work that goes in to that. you need a new transmission as you already know, you also need a shift linkage, the ecu, and about two to three days of manual labor. if you take it somewhere they will charge you any where from 1500 to 3000 just to do that. so before you go and start think about it

88-91 Civic/CRX cable type D-series transaxles are the only practical ones to use.

U also need a clutch cable, manual pedal assembly, clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate. U can probably get it all done for around $500-$700 IF u do it all yourself. It's really not that hard...
Oh, and I do have a d-series transmission(off my d16a6), slightly used shift linkage(about 3 months of use, will be MUCH better than junkyard or used linkages), clutch kit(flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing), and manual pedal assembly. All u need is a clutch cable to get it to work! PM me if you're interested.
