Default A few Quick Questions...

Ok....
1. I picked up a 5spd tranny at the local junkyard for 30 bucks, it came out of an 88-91 civic sedan, i own a hatchback of the same year range. now my question is will this fit correctly? the motor in that car was a d15b2 and my motor is a d15b1. I currently have a 4spd in there that i want to get rid of before i boost the motor. part of this question is also when i go to buy the clutch kit, do i buy the one for my motor and will it work fine with that transmission? I'm only asking that because i asked my friend who has good knowledge on Hondas and he said he doesnt think it'll work with my flywheel or some bullshyt like that.... I looked up on ebay at the clutch kits they have and most are for the 1.6 motors (although it also states that it will fit all d-series motors); will those work with my 1.5 motor/flywheel? or does it have to be engine specific? k thats all for that question

2. Will the whole body harness of a crx work on my hatch? i found a junked crx and it has all the interior wiring, the wiring behind the dash, etc. i hesitated to pick it up because i didnt feel like paying for something that might not work correctly...

Cliff Notes: will clutch kit for 1.6 motors work on my 1.5? Will crx full body harness work on my hatch?

Yes, it will bolt up to your block... As for the clutch and flywheel, you need everything for the tranny... Reason is the trannies have different numbers of trannies (21 in 88s and 89+ 20 splines or something of that matter, I forget the exact number)... So whatever year/model the tranny is, buy for that... Being a D15B2 its probably an LX... But you need to find out what year LX...

Second, I WOULD NOT bother boosting that engine... It has 8 valves, 70HP, and wont make much power even with a turbo... And it will probably not last very long... And for the cost to boost it, u could just buy a better engine... And the probably wont have much money left to replace it when it does blow up... I say swap it out for atleast a D16A6 if you plan to boost... Even the B2 would be a decent upgrade, but still probably woulnt make much boosted...

As for the harness, I doubt it... The layout of the interior of the CRX is pretty different than the Civic (no back seats for one)... And the different years are also different, so the chances all your sensors and switches will line up are slim... And there really would be no benefit from doing it anyways...

my cylinder head is 16v not 8v, and i already have turbo kit so no going back on that. i dont feel like dealing with a huge motor im not out to shyt on people or break times i just want a little extra hp there for when i feel like putting my foot down... Reason is the trannies have different numbers of trannies did you mean splines instead of trannies? that part confused me...

If hes boosting, a header and intake would be kinda pointless wouldnt it?
