Blown D16(Oops)
Hey guys. Blew my Si's d16 a few weeks ago. Crank broke, and #3 cylinder took a walk thru the sleeve.
. . I'm having trouble locating a D16, or a ZC in the Denver Area. Anyone know a place that deals in imported engines 'round here. Somethin' with reasonable miles, and a somewhat decent pricetag. I'd appreciate any info you can give. Tanx.

I wouldn't buy anything from any shop here in the Denver area. THey are all ripoffs. Trenz ripped off a buddy of mine w/an install. I would totally recommend buying from www.lightningmotorsports.com I don't think they have engines.

Westy, Near. Federal. I talked to someone at Asylum motorsports, and they wanted something like $1500 for a ZC with over 150K on it. I told him where to stick his motor.
The rex's been out of comm for nearly 3 months now, and I just wanna get it back on the road. It's killin me.

Asylymms sucks so bad.....Trenz couldn't figure out how to put in a d16z6 into my friends hf, so they put in an a6 instead, and didn't even tell him about it till after they were done. They kept the z6 and never gave him anything for it. They ripped him hard. He's one of those guys who doesn't know he's getting ripped and when he does, he just shrugs. He's not smart....to say the least!
I'm down in Lakewood off of Wads, near Alameda.

Check out www.ardperformance.com for JDM engines. As for a replacement D16, what about HASPORT in Arizona? They're at www.hasport.com
I recently found out about this company around Colorado- http://www.pfispeed.com/interface.htm . Their prices seem pretty reasonable for what they offer (ie-$3,500 for boring, sleeving, port & polish and engine, plus a choice of hi-po rods, pistons, and gaskets). However, I have absolutely no idea how proffesional or how their reputation is, since I don't know anybody who has worked with them. Anyhow, it can't hurt to call them up and check them out.
