Yep, common setup, referred to as "LSVTEC"

You'd need the ECU, there's some machining work to tap the oil line into the block for VTEC operation. There's a kit from Golden Eagle you can buy to get all the neccessary hardware.

Do a search, it's been covered in detail on the board many a time.

AF must be in a good mood today. :chuckles:

Yes, it's been covered a lot so you should be able to find a lot of info if you search. LS-VTEC using a GSR head is said to be just like a b18c with more torque.

Or you could also use a itr head or a civic b16a head.

My personal experience is that the GS-R head is the best bang for the buck.

And has the most potential, it flows a good deal better. So if its ported, polished and built it would do better than both.

-even if it doesnt flow better the GSR head has smaller chambers, it increases compression a good .2-.3 or so, which in itself can result in better numbers.

It doesn't flow a good deal better...but it does flow slightly better, especially at full valve lift...and like sherwood said, provides higher compression.

Ok, so what would an ls/gsr/b16 motor hybrid be like then h: cuz that's pretty much what i'll be running if i do the gsr head swap. I'll probably get the head redone, change the internals of the block, and beef up the tranny a little, i want at least 250hp with FI. A good way to blow my taxes IMO
