the ECU for the engine is P08 - may be hard to find since it is JDM - a P28 from 92-95 Civic EX will work - both of those are OBD1 ECUs - if you have a PM6, you must be running OBD0 and in order to use the VTEC ECU you would need to convert to OBD1 - or, you could rig up a rpm switch to control the VTEC with the OBD0 ECU

Or as I say all the time, you can run the PM6 with turboedit and either do the mod to the ecu for vtec activation or a rpm switch.

How do u know its the 3 stage VTEC version? The 92-95s arent 3 stage... Does it have 2 VTEC solenoids? If it is indeed the 3 stage, then you will need the proper ECU which would be OBD2, otherwise you will not have 3 stages of VTEC... The P08 is the OBD1 version for regular VTEC...

I looked it up and found that the ECU is a: 37820-P2J-003 (manual) or 37820-p2j-j61 (mulitmatic)... Good luck with the OBD2 conversion tho...

You can probably run it OBD1 with a P08 or P28, but you wont have 3 stage VTEC...

For a write up on the regular 2 stage D15B VTEC into a CRX look here:

You will also need a wiring harness or modify your own.

Stop giving out wrong information... The PR3 wont work because it will throw a CEL because it will be looking for a knock sensor and a secondary o2 sensor which the SOHC VTECs do not have...
