Default how to/ reason for removing 2nd butterflies in gsr intake manifold.....

hi guys, me again and i have a question i was talkin to some of my friends and they were tellin me to remove the 2nd butterflies in the intake manifold. they never told me what for or how. any help would be great...is it a good thing? or bad and how thanks guys

Umm, what would be the point of that. You'd just loose power low end and it'd probably run like shit below the normal secondary butterfly engagement point.

thanks well they are already unhooked from the vacum source. where would i run the vaccum line to from the butterflies? the car came with them unhooked already. i would like to hook them up and maybe see a small difference. ls bottom end/gsr head, where would i put the vaccum line from the im 2nds. thanks for the response

no one told me to unhook them it came that way. people told me to just remove the "dashpot" that held the butterflies, that they where useless and were just in the way. i did a search and found that they are there for a reason. so now i am after a diagram or instructions where to hook it up again. it is just one vacuum line right guys? from the dashpot to "??????". thanks for the help guys keep it comin

The dashpot is connected to a vacuum solenoid which is activated by a signal sent from the P72 (GS-R) computer. Was the wiring for the solenoid run with the swap? You may have to add it in yourself or replicate the system using an RPM switch.

no clue man how would i find out. my ecu on the other hand is a pr3? obd0 ecu and no when i got the car the hose was still on the dashpot but with a little screw in it to "cap" it off.

I PR3 will not send the proper signal to activate the stock solenoid to activate the butterflies. You'll have to improvise.

thanks for the diagram jlicrx, as far as the ecu prob what would you guys say?.....any diagrams on that? this board has been very helpfull i appreciate it alot....keep it comin guys what do i need to wire or do, again thanks for the diagram
