Default rough idle/vibrations?

My 91 civic hatch dx has been doing this for a while now
its idles kinda rough-i'd say it's more like it vibrates-more than it used to anyway-when its stopped and at an idle. Sometimes it will idle really low and it feels like it's just about to stall, but it never does then it vibrates. It's extremely reliable still and never breaks down or doesn't start even though its been doing this for like 6 months *minimum* now.

Any idea what causes this and what I can do to fix it?

does it vibrate when in neutral or just when your foot is on the clutch.

Thanks for your reply

It definately vibrates more when I have my foot on the clutch.

The clutch was replaced about 6 months ago or so. It's kinda funny that you should mention it, cause when I started to notice this problem was right after my uncle replaced the clutch. I trust his work very much. Though I did have him double check everything afterward when I noticed this problem cause I thought it might be related. But he's a great mechanic, very meticulous about the work he does. He was very confident that he didn't leave anything undone or so he said. Of course when the clutch needed to be replaced the whole car would shake everytime I took off from a stop cause of the clutch going bad. So maybe I just didn't think about the vibration before cause I thought it was realated to the clutch I don't know. I'll tell you this though that from the time I bought the car until when I started to notice this--it ran smoother and quieter than a brand new Mercedes no joke.

so is it doing the same thing it did before the clutch was replaced? my guess would be he screwed up the clutch install.

For the vibration...maybe ask your uncle to check the engine/transmission mounts. Have him recheck the clutch install also...When I replaced my clutch there were no vibration problems afterwards.
Good luck.
