Default getting headache!!need help on engine light..

wasap guys..I was hoping that someone here might be able to help me out here.

I got a 89 crx with a d16-z6 motor with a p28 ecu. just recently I had to change the oil ring on my piston. now that I got everything put in. my idle seems to be unstable. it goes up and down from 800 to 1500 rpm. So I tried to check for engine code but the engine light only stay on it never blink. Could it be the ECU or what.

it could be code zero...which is ecu. but then again if you dont have a check engine light to begin with and try checking for codes you should get a steady cel. make sense? also a crx with a sohc vtec w p28? all obd1 right?

Recheck all the electrical connections to the sensors that might have been disconnected when you pulled the cylinder head to replace the piston rings.

Check all of the wire splicing you did for the d16z6 install.

Check the engine and transmission ground connections.
