Default Which Axles?

Heys guys, my driver's side axle is going out. For which car/year should i ask my local parts store? I have a b16 with the s1 transmission. I heard that as long as I don't have the y1 w/ lsd, I can use 90-93 integra axles. Does that sound right?

Cool. I thought so. Thanks. Saves me a lot of trouble and money from having to buy those "special b16 swapped crx axles that u need to buy." I knew they were full of BS if u don't own the y1 lsd tranny. Thanks again.

Okay, finally fixed the axle, but it turns out that I had to buy axles from a 90-93 integra WITH ABS. The splines on an axle from a 90-93 integra w/o ABS aren't long enough to fit into the intermediate shaft on my b16a. I don't know if every b16a has the same intermediate shaft, but just letting everyone know about this.

since we are on the topic here......my friend has a ls (dont know which one) in his crx. he has axles from a 90-93 teg...but they are both male ends. his inter. shaft is male as well. does he swap out inter for female? does he get new female halfshaft? i dont mean to hijack...but it sounds like you already answered your question revenge

GSR driver's axle is female on the transmission side? By female we mean axles that have a hole instead of a spline shaft right? Not trying to sound rude or anything I didn't know that female axles even existed.

i believe he is talking about driver side. passenger side is male to hub and male to tranny. driver side would be male to hub and female to inter. shaft. inter shaft woudl be male for femla axle then male to trans.

that is correct - if you swap intermediate shafts, which you could do, you will need a new seal where the shaft goes into the transmission - they are different sizes on the 2 different int. shafts

you can see the axles here:

That's what I meant. I just didn't know that axles themselves can be female, i've only seen male axles on both ends and on both sides of the car on all my cars thus far I guess it depends on what intermediate shaft comes with your purchase huh? Good to know guys. Thanks!
