Default transmission fluid??

how do i put transmission fluid on single cam vtec 1.6 tranny?? wheres is the plug located?? and what kind of fluid do i use??

I use the backup switch on the top of my tranny... But then again I do have a CRX with a cable tranny (as Im sure most ppl in this section will have since this IS the 4th gen Civic forum)... Either way, yours should also have one... The actual fill/check hole is on the side just above where your pass side axle slides into the tranny... Its a 14mm or 17mm bolt...

the drain plug is on the same side near the bottom with a 3/8 fitting.
fill the tranny with either honda manual transmission fluid or motoroil. the tranny is full when the fluid is level with the fill hole and fluid comes back out.

Pennzoil Synchromesh Friction Modified (also released as GM) also works well...
