Default PG7 ecu swap

I want to put a PG7 in my '85 Si. I adapted an eacv from an Integra by running a hose to it from the air intake tube, and from it to a vacuum port on the back of the intake manifold. The car runs like crap with this ecu. The cel comes on and goes off at random, and it throws a code 1 (O2 content). It runs great and throws no codes with the original ecu, but it doesn't rev high enough, and I'm told the PG7 has better fuel maps. What gives? Does the eacv need to be hooked up differently?
Also, do all Civics use the same pins to hook to the ecu? I would be willing to switch to a later ecu with an electronic advance distributor if all I have to do is repin the ecu plugs and run wiring for it.
