I have a b16 2nd gen. in my crx, the person i bought the motor from sent a bad ecu so so converted it to obd0 and used the d16 ecu till i can get another. Is that a bad idea? Thanks
when i sent off my ecu, for the b16a, to get chipped, i used my original crx obd0 ecu, and it worked temporarily. the engine didn't have vtec and flashed an engine code.
yes in can be bad...it doesnt run the same maps and you can chance extremely lean or rich running...the timing will also be off...all kinds of fun...I wouldnt recomend it
the best ecu for the money is a obd1 its the most easily changed and chipped obd2 has so much increption its very difficult to work with obd2 ecus dont like to be reprogrammed either
