so heres the deal. one of my friends has a 89 CRX with a 91 b16a1 in it. he just blew the head gasket and needs another one fast cause it's his daily driver. he went to the local parts store to get one but they don't have the b16 listed in the system. so will a head gasket for the b16a3 fit the a1? sorry if it's a dumb ? but i don't know anything about these older cars.

 

The 2000 Civic Si has a B16a2, and so does the civic del sol VTEC. I always have to buy parts for the B16a2 when I buy parts for my A1. The only thing you can't buy is the electronic sensors, because they are OBD2 & OBD1.

 

All VTEC B-series 81mm bore motors should use the same headgasket. You could get a GSR headgasket and that will fit the same as a B16 headgasket.
