Dammit all to hell.....
okay here I go with another question, and a story that might make other people laugh but is a pain in the ass to me. Okay, my question first story after. Okay have this swap almost finished, doin a b16a into an 89 DX. Got the car fired up, but I'm throwing the codes for tps and iacv. Me and my friend have been racking our brains tryin to figure out what the hell is going on, I'm like 99 % sure that the wiring is all correct. The idle is so-so right now but it won't rev very high. What are some ways to test if maybe my iacv is bad? I'm gonna try to switch it out with one from my friends b18 (out of a wrecked DA) and see what happens there, but wanted to see if there are any things that spring to anyone's mind..... okay enough for my question, now the story. Okay had an issue with the shift linkage that I ordered with my swap, it was totally wrong, so while I sat around waiting for the replacement to come in which due to a few shipping problems took an ungodly amount of time, a family of mice looking to get out of the rain I'm guessin climbed up through the hole where the linkage was. So the other day I'm in my car cleaning it out so that it's ready once the engine gets right and I see these three little balls of fur nestled in my back seat. So me and my friend wasted about an hour so pulling up the carpet and chasing these damn mice around the inside of my car with plastic bags over our hands...... freakin sucked, and to make matters worse we still haven't gotten them out
Wow. Mice in the car! That's a story alright. The best way to test the tps or iacv is by measuring the resistance using an ohmmeter. This book can tell u what the resistance specs should be. http://www.crxpower.net/~silverkorn/...hop_Manual.pdf If the resistance is out of spec, then you'll need a new tps or iacv sensor.
