Default Setting a TPS

Well, I jsut put on a new TPS sensor. It runs alot better now. But, I don't really know how to set it. I have heard that you are supposed to set it at
.45V. Is this true? Is there a way to do it by feel, or do you HAVE to use a volt meter? I would probably say use a voltmeter, but I am just wondering if anytone else has done it before.

Use a multi/volt meter. If you have a programmable ECU, it should show you the voltage as well.

All you need to do is take a reading with the throttle is closed and another at WOT (with the car off). You can turn the TPS to adjust the voltage to get it within the proper specs.

I've had an ongoing problem with my idling once the car is warmed up. My ECU was spitting out codes for the TPS and the Cyl position sensor which is located in the distributor. I've replaced the TPS and the distributor hoping that it would idle better. The CEL went off and the codes went away so that was a good thing. Now I still need to work on the idle.

After the car warms up, when I'm sitting still at an idle, the RPMs go up and down from about 1200 to 700 - up down up down.

Could this be related to "adjusting" the TPS?

The car is a CRX/JDM b16a combo.

Hondas are standardized at .5-4.5, full range, throttle closed to wide open.

I saw on another site that when the throttle is closed (key on but not started) it should be set at .45V but they had a problem and ended up with a setting at .32V to make it run right.

Mine was at .28V when I checked so I set it at .40V. It idles great now but bogs a little out of the hole. I'm going to try it at .45V next to see if it makes any difference.

Well, when I went to check my TPS it was set at .15 on closed. So i set it to .45/.46. I don't know how I should paly around with it to get it to run better. It seems to run good now. Runs better than it did before. I figure .15 was way to low for closed, hence y it bogged untill a little higher RPM. Also does anyone know what the voltage is supposed to be at WOT? Well, if there is anyone else out there with their settings just let me know. Thanx again.

I don't think it matters what voltage reading you get at WOT because you can only set the TPS for a closed throttle.

If I can find the site that had that info, I'll post the link.
