Default Need Advice On Crx Purchase

Hey, I am looking at buying a 91 CRX HF w/ a ZC swap, I was told from the person selling it that the timing belt had snaped and then been replaced, I drove the car and its kind of lagging when I first try to take off. I was wondering what could this be (the guy says the didnt get the timing right), and if the timing belt snapping could have caused any signifigant engine damage. Thanks

does the ECU show any codes? breaking timing belt could bend some valves, but not always - if the timing belt is not installed correctly, it will affect the way it runs - is it SOHC ZC or DOHC?

d series motors rarely bend valves... if he has proof of everything, and it doesn't look beat up... buy it and just check the timing... its most likely a tooth or 2 off... does it sound like its sucking air through a straw?
