Default Car Trouble

My car wont start... its a 90 civic and i think it might be the timing belt. the engine turns with the key in the ignition, but it just wont start. is it possible to change a timing belt myself? or will it have to be professionally done? its a 5-spd, if that has anything to do with it. and how much would it cost me for a new timing belt w/ installation?

It's a pretty simple job. Where are you located?

May I suggest that you buy a Helm manual (www.helminc.com) for your car. The project is not complex-but it is time consuming for many. If changing the belt (60k is recommended mileage) then you will want to do the water pump and possibly the valve cover seals. If the tensioner is questionable-replace it. You will need several tools and a way to hold the engine up while you take the motor mount off-then you have the Timing cover to get off. You will also want to replace your anti-freeze/coolant.
