they told me that if i were to put a cam and some headers on my d16a6 i would be able to stay up with a b16 and another question does a cam really make a big diffrence in your engine like if i were to get one would i feel the hp gain.

Think about it, you are talking about bringing a 1.6 SOHC non-VTEC up to the level of a 1.6 DOHC VTEC by about 52 horsepower (flywheel)... That kind of power in a D-Series motor can really only be found through forced induction like a turbo or nitrous. Even if you did a massive rebuild from the block to the head with aftermarket parts for an all motor setup, you'd have to do some pretty intense compression changes and bullet-proofing to get over 50 hp. A header and a cam upgrade on your D16 will probably net you around 7-10 horses tops.

If you do a cam, valvetrain, ported & polished head and intake manifold, and headers, you'll probably keep up. All that will net you around 50hp, and will cost close to the cost of a b. Think about this, swap in the b, then do all that work, which will cost about 2-2.5k more. Now you have like 200hp to the wheels with a total cost of around 4k. Either way, get rid of that d-series.
