Default How do i paint my car?

How did you do it, I want to get a paintjob, and if I pay someone else to do it, it costs 4grand so I was wondering what exactally I would need for the painting process, could you aid a noob? How did you veterens do it?

4 f**kin grand, what type of paint are you gettin. and how big is your car?? i dont know how to paint but damn i wouldnt think to pay over 1000 for a good job.

I have a 89 civic HB, not a big car by anyones estimates, but the estimate war 4 grand, I honestly dont know what the world is coming to.

i only paid.. $430 for my paint job.. they did engine bay.. inside of the doors.. i got porsche red.. on my hatchback.. and that was from macco... so i dont konw what the hell they are charging you 4 g's for!

You must have asked for full service and some crazy metallic pearl paint to get a $4k qoute.

The car could need a lot of body work, hence the high price.

yeah A LOT of body work(might as well be totalled). but if the body is good go look to get a macco paintjob somewhere. they are cheap and good.

Not at all, if it was totaled I wouldnt have bought it it has about 12 minor hail marks on the hood and roof, which I hear arent hard to take out, and the front left fender is dented moderately. All I wanted was the damage taken out and painted a dark green to go good with the tan interior.

If you are trying to get that color, no need for 4 grand. I think whoever gave you the estimate took you as a jackass and decided he'd see if you'd take it.

Anyways, Macco is a car painting shop, usually continental. They have quite a few here, you might want to look them up? I've never had my car painted/detailed there, i've got friends that do it, but you might want to look it up and see if you know anyone else that has gone there? It could save you like 3500$.
