Default chipping ecu

How would I chip my ecu for a b16 to read the vtec? I just got another crx and i want to put a b16 in it. I have a crx with a mini-me swap but I bought an apexi computer. With that I had to run the wire from the vtec cylinoid to the vtec wire in the vtec wire on the wiring harness on the apex. But where would the wire go if I chipped it? The wiring harness would have the plug but there would be anything going to the ecu. Or am I way wrong and if I chipped it then the vtec would still kick in. Please help me out. thanks.

Are you using a computer from a VTEC-equipped vehicle? If not, a chip is not going to "add" VTEC.
