what kinda surges?... like as in.. running real rough?... or what?.. i mean there is a ton of things that can happen.. when you do a swap.. even if it is the same exact engine that was in there b4... so explain what it is doing a lil better.. and maybe some of us can help you!

You woulda been better off going with the d16a6... prolly only woulda ran ya.. like 150 bucks.. and the engine that you got .. mmh.. d15b??? maybe.. i think..

neway..
yea

one flash on the ecu is oxygen sensor, surge in idle is the idle air control valve. thats on the right side of intake mani if looking down from the front of engine. could be a vacuum hose also. the idle control valve has a few small hoses coming out of it and has a cylinder looking shape. It sits right next to the intake mani, or the throttle body. I've heard of cleaning it with brake cleaner inside and out, but i never tried it.

idle air control valve isnt throttle position censor is it, cause that could be a problem, also the vacuum lines make sense.
