To Many problems...
I'd guess it's the rocker arms, or maybe even worn spots on the cam lobes; they may have some irregular wear in them from the valves being improperly adjusted by the previous owner. By the way, are you adjusting the valves with the motor warm or cold?
The ticking could possibly be a little hole in your header. Mine recently developed a little hole, and it sounded like the motor was making a loud ticking. I took the header off, and found a little hole, which made the ticking sound. I welded it back up, and it solved my problem. Maybe not your problem, but possible.

Had to get a alignment $65, next day tie rod broke....Yesterday I take it for a oil change, after I got the car back it starts ticking. Well today when I went to go drive the car, I went to put it in reverse and notice the shifter was messed up. It had so much play I could rotate it in circles, well the pin from the shift linkage broke off. This is my story all for one week, I hope it gets better from now on.
P.S. The ticking noise is because I need a valve adjustment

Was there a startup warranty? I wonder if it would cover problems for the first few thousand miles or something. Proly not cause it's a used motor. Not sure what else to say except hope you find the problem :happysad: .
