Default windshield replacement cost?

When i bought my crx a few years ago, the windshield was cracked all the way across the passenger side. I'm now just getting around to replacing it. My insurance company told me to go to a particular place and they would give me their rates since i am paying out of my pocket. I was quoted $315 bucks. This seems a little steep to me for a CRX. I've already set up an appointment to have it done. Should i shop around a little more, becasuse to me, it seems they gave me no special rate. Thanks for any info.

Just found a place that's going to do it for $189, almost half the price of my first quote. If paying out of your pocket, it's pays to shop around.

It all depends on the quality of the glass and the labor involved. If they're using OEM Honda glass, it's quite expensive. If it's a Mexican-made windshield, it will be cheaper.
