Default B16a0 = codes 43 & 44 (Engine light lit)

What could cause this problem, i have very lumpy and erratic idling.
The car has been parked up for three years, alot of black carbon deposits come out the exhaust,
What do i check/do first?

Thanks

Harry

Default fuel supply

well, code 43 is fuel supply so heres what I think would be wrong, but I'm new so I don't know shit.

1) fuel injector
2) injector resistor
3) contaminated fuel, rusty gas tank, dirty gas tank,
4)fuel pump/relay

replace the fuel pressure regulator - after sitting for a long time, the regulator sticks shut and doesn't return fuel to the tank, just dumps it all into the engine - also a very common problem on engines shipped in from Japan, since they have been sitting unused for quite a while

Default fuel filter

fuel filter is on the passenger side of the car. next to this black cylinder shaped apparatus with a couple of vacuum hoses coming out of it. The fuel filter has two fuel lines coming out of the top of the filter. Its black also. Heres is a link so you can check with everything you need to know. Its a free manuel for your civic. or what ever you drive. just type this in your search for google or msn, or wherever, just not the search at the top here.

Default fuel

drain the gas tank out. There is a section in that manual for that. Well, its to remove the tank, but, you have to drain it out first. See what color the gas is.

Also, you should change the distrib cap and rotor. Make sure the timing is right.
Use the the link for the book as a reference. The o2 makes the car run rich so maybe the o2 needs replace. Its a bitch to do. I changed mine by unbolting the header on top and bottom to move it around a little. I didint take it out though.
