Default CRX engine swap HELP!!

Hey guys I am in the middle of an engine swap and I have hit a problem. I have what I was told is a d16a1 engine out of a 87-88 integra and it came with an auto tranny. I am trying to bolt up my manual stock 87 crx si tranny to the engine and the trannys bolt pattern is too small. From what I have read this should be a straight up bolt in swap??? Have I read wrong?? Am I supposed to use an 87-88 integra tranny with the engine? Or should my tranny bolt up and I dont have the engine I thought I had?? If so how can I ID the engine I have??? Please help!!

Ok just went out and varified the engine is a d16a1 engine as per the stamp on the block. So I take it the engine swap is not bolt in and I need a tranny?? Does that then mean I need the axles and hubs also??? Anybody??

I think you will need a 5 speed tranny from a '86-'89 Integra... Not sure if the stock tranny will work... But I dont know much about the EC ans its potential swaps so Im not sure...

Check out this page I typed up for a friend a while back... The info is from a book I have...

it would help if you mentioned if it's a 1st or 2nd gen crx the 84-87 crx the D16 out of the 86-87 will bolt in but you need the teg trans. if you have the second gen then the 1st gen teg motor will not bolt into the car you would need a ZC motor that came out of the jdm crx and your old trans will bolt up to that one

you need 86-89 Integra transmission, axles, knuckles/hubs and shift linkage

Thanks for the help guys I did a bunch more reading on it at redpepper and this swap is a lot more involved than I thought! From what I read the engine would just bolt in, but I didnt see I needed the tranny axles hubs, and ecu. Well looks like I may have to see if I can get my money back out of it and get something else!
