EW4 Tranny
Hey all,
I have an 86 civic SI hatch with the 1.5 EW4 in it. I am having some noise comming out of it when I release the clutch... Doesn't matter if its in gear or not. A friend said it might be a syncro going out. Its a clicking noise that follows the motor speed. I am dropping the tranny today to check everything I can see...Clutch, TOB, etc.
I was planning a d16 swap later. If I buy the motor and tranny from an interga will the tranny bolt up to my EW4??? if so what do I need. tranny, Axles, mounts??
any info would be great.
Thanks
Scott

sounds like it is a bearing in the transmission
D16A1 engine from 86-87 Integra will bolt right into your chassis (88-89 D16A1 will also bolt in, but a lot more hassle due to the electronic advance on the distributor) - you need to use the 86-89 Integra transmission, axles, knuckles/hubs, shift linkage and ECU
