Default v/c studs stripped need help

alright first i noticed that my valve cover nut was a little loose so i tried to tighten it and wabam it was stipped so i thought no big deal ill just buy a new nut. ok so i bought the nuts and it seemed to fit a little funny and when i was tightening it it stripped out the dam stud. now i need my car daily so im workin on gettin a valve cover gasket and that good stuff for when i have to take it off to do the repair. ive never worked on the anything past the intake manifold or wiring so i have no idea what to expect. like if you can just take out the stud and put in a new one or what. can anyone give me any suggestions on what i should be expecting or maybe even step by step what i should do? anything should help.

thanks
travis

take the valve cover off. you will see that the stud can be unscrewed from the engine head. it is deep socket 12 or 14mm i think. you can go to the junkyard or Honda and buy a new stud. OR... you can get a thread chaser kit and try and repair the thread. good luck- dont worry. it isnt hard.

Let me know what motor you have. I have several brand new dohc studs. You can have them just pay for shipping.
