Default loss of power

My cousing just bought a 91 crx si, but it seem to be weak compared to another friends crx, it has slow acceleration and it seems to hesitate on about 5k rpm. What could it be?

um it could be that the timing could be off a few degrees most likely advanced. because if you retard it then it tends to pick up a little bit if accel. also you can check to see if maybe there are any leaks in the exhaust cause if there are then you wont get the accel that you need or want. also is the check engine light on is reading any codes at all??

Try giving it a tune-up.

No, the other crx is not "slightlty moded", it is completely stock.

i agree here. It should receive a full tune up.

new spark plugs cap rotor and wires
valve lash adjustment
check timing
change all fluids
fuel filter
air filter
and check your ground wires make sure they are clean

after doing all this. you may find the missing horespower you are looking for

Im sure its an si, it has the exact motor, interior, suspension as all the other si crx's. We'll try giving it a "master super deluxe tune-up".
