Default basic questions..

hey guys im the guy with the friend who has a fked up crx.

its a 90 Si.. looking at nippon-motors.com it looks like the stock engine is listed as..

88-91 Honda Civic, CRX(SOHC) ZC(SOHC)/D16A6 1.6 L 4 Cyl $395 Si Civic/CRX only

a few lines down they have..

88-91 Honda Performance Engine ZC(DOHC) 4 Cyl $545 Engine+5speed Trans: $600, +ECU: $750; +LSD: $950

what is the diff in his stock motor and the "performance" engine, OTHER than the dohc head?

would this be a worthwhile investment.. because things dont look good and its either going to be $395 or $545 right? might as well spend the extra $150 right?

thanks for the help guys

THe difference is phenomenal. Go with the DOHC ZC. Its a direct swap. right in there. Only have to add two extra wires for the exhaust manifold.

the first time I drove a zc powered crx it was wonderful, wicked power in third gear and it pulled good in all gears. It was then put in a dx hatch and hometurbo was bolted on and then it was crazy. I am in talks right now to buy one from a guy and have it installed next weekend. Its gotta be worth the price, A good header and cai and exhaust for a stock engine would be more then the cost of a zc.
